So often we get caught up in moments that are small and unimportant. We stress over minor issues that can actually change our moods, our thoughts and put us in a rut. It is a distraction.
We get caught up in the world’s ups and downs. Our lives function in a series of activities that revolve around ourselves, making our efforts known, striving for success. BUT what if he walked in the room you’re sitting in right now.
The song “What would you do” by Elevation Worship is one of my favorites. The premise is the idea of Christ walking into a room with you, and your feelings and actions that follow. The song challenges you to think with clarity.
What would you say to Jesus Christ?
As soon as I hear this, I think I’d probably be in awe and wouldn’t be able to say anything. Although I am sure that is the majority of us, could you imaging being able to discuss anything with him? Carrying on a conversation? The bible tells us that our mouths speaks what the heart is full of (Luke 6:45). What does it feel like to be full of Christ’s presence?
What would you shout in the presence of Jesus Christ?
Probably his name right?! What would it be like to witness something so magnificent? To be in awe and have the inherent need to shout praiseworthy words and phrases. Praise looks and feels different to everyone but it can reach the ears of God. What would it sound like if he were right in front of us?
What would you do?
Now think about this, what if we treated each moment as if he were with us constantly? What if we walked in step with him, even though we couldn’t see him. What would it feel like to know that no matter what where you go there is no darkness in Christ. There is only forgiveness, grace, love, peace and truth.
The song goes on to tell us He’s in the room with you right now. The king is in the room. Your healer’s in the room. Your savior’s in the room. Your provider’s in the room. Your redeemer’s in the room. Your champion’s in the room.
“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is the light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4
“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the ages.” Matthew 28:20
So what will you do?
What will you change? How will your walk change and bend towards Christ. The first time I heard this song, my heart was so heavy because we I knew that if he were in the room I would not worry about these earthly things. I would not carry anxiety because he would carry it for me. I knew I needed to act as if he walked with me, guiding me and keeping me.
I hope this message finds you well, but if it doesn’t. What would you do, if he walked into the room?
